Summer Wines: Aldaina al Mas by Andreola

A Valdobbiadene DOCG Extra Brut, Aldaina al Mas originates from a 6-hectare vineyard in Guia, situated at an altitude of 250 to 350 meters. The site is defined by its deep, fertile soils, the result of an ancient landslide. Officially launched with the 2023 vintage, this wine is the culmination of years of study in a vineyard Andreola has cultivated since 2013. The name “Aldaina al Mas” evokes local tradition, translating to “farmhouse on the landslide.”

This refers to the vineyard’s terroir, where the deep, fertile soil supporting the vineyard and its central farmhouse was formed by a historic landslide from the higher “Madeanhill. Crafted from 100% Glera grapes, Aldaina al Mas is distinguished by its freshness and persistence. The aromatic profile is elegant, presenting notes of white flowers, citrus, and green apple. On the palate, it delivers remarkable sapidity and vibrant acidity—a testament to the area’s significant diurnal temperature variations and the presence of calcareous marl in the soil. An ideal aperitif, it pairs impeccably with crudo, fried fish, fresh cheeses, and light appetizers.
