In the professional kitchen, precision is paramount. Yet, the joy of cooking also thrives on tactility and warmth. It is at this very intersection of high performance and sensory pleasure that kitchen specialist Abimis introduces Legni, a new family of wooden utensils created in collaboration with the Venetian wood artisans at Duylo.
This thoughtfully composed ensemble pays homage to classic wooden games, with each piece meticulously crafted from fine woods and elegantly engraved with the Abimis logo. The collection comprises two chopping boards, a modular storage system, a trivet, a utensil set, and a multifunctional sink cover.
The game begins with Domino, a rectangular, slatted ash wood chopping board that doubles as a practical serving tray, its ergonomic grip ensured by two subtle grooves. Its counterpart, Scacchi (Chess), is a square board, also in ash, whose reduced base allows for an easy grip from any angle. Its delicate checkerboard pattern masterfully highlights the wood’s natural grain.
Torre (Tower) stands as a modular system of stackable boxes, available in natural walnut, ash, or oxidized oak. Its design masterfully balances function and form: conceived for everything from bringing order to the pantry to creating an elegant mise en place, the stacked boxes also generate a striking visual effect—a dynamic interplay of solid and void spaces, created by the alternation of solid surfaces and those patterned with inclined slats.
The collection continues with Dama (Draughts), a trivet in ash or walnut with a grid-perforated top for optimal heat dissipation, and Shangai, a complete utensil set in walnut for every stage of cooking. Finally, Tangram brings intelligent design to the sink area with a clever dish rack and a cover that expands the usable worktop surface.
Finally, Tangram brings intelligent design to the sink area. It includes two ash wood elements: a grid that serves as a dish rack and a cover that not only maximizes the usable worktop surface but also functions as an additional chopping board.
This partnership is more than a collaboration; it is a meeting of philosophies. Duylo’s commitment to using exclusively wood from sustainable, zero-waste sources finds its perfect counterpart in Abimis’s dedication to stainless steel—a material that is infinitely recyclable and virtually eternal.
