Alta Langa Roma, the B2B showcase dedicated to Piedmont’s esteemed traditional method sparkling wines, returns to the Capital.
The event is scheduled for Monday, June 16, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM, at Spazio Field in Palazzo Brancaccio, with entry at Via Merulana 248.
Over 30 member producers of the Alta Langa Consortium. will present a selection of their traditional method cuvées currently on the market. In total, over 70 labels will be available for tasting, spanning white, rosé, and riserva categories in both brut and pas dosé (zero dosage) styles.
Throughout the day, invitation-only masterclasses will be conducted by Marco Reitano, sommelier of the three-Michelin-starred restaurant La Pergola (Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel).
“Following the success of the first edition,” comments Marco Reitano, “Alta Langa DOCG returns to Rome, bringing with it its characterful sparkling wines—an authentic expression of the high-altitude Piedmontese hillsides near the Ligurian Apennines. This second edition confirms the capital’s growing interest in this traditional method, which is increasingly featured on the wine lists of fine dining establishments and is a rising favorite among a discerning and demanding public. It is an event that strengthens the bond between Rome and one of the most promising appellations in the landscape of high-quality Italian sparkling wine.”
Alta Langa DOCG Meets Rome: Ten Key Establishments in the Spotlight
In the days preceding the event, ten renowned Roman establishments will be featured in a photo shoot designed to bring the allure of Alta Langa DOCG to the Eternal City.
Alta Langa DOCG will meet with Rome’s restaurant scene to tell stories of passion and mastery, from the dining room to the heart of the kitchen, in a photographic journey that celebrates the flavors and leading figures of Roman gastronomy. The photos will be published on the Consortium’s social media channels to convey the contemporary spirit of Piedmont’s “Alte Bollicine” through the faces of Rome’s fine dining scene.
The participating venues include: Mirabelle, Follie at Villa Agrippina a Gran Meliá Hotel, L’Arcangelo, Armando al Pantheon, Sushisen, Romané by Stefano Callegari, Baccano, Idylio by Apreda at The Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel, Ai Piani, and Osteria Chiari.
Debut of “Onde”: An Installation Symbolizing the Territory
During the event, a new project by the Alta Langa Consortium will make its official debut, conceived to innovatively narrate the story of its territory of origin.
Named “Onde” (Waves), the installation faithfully reproduces the contour lines of the Alta Langa DOCG production area through a composition of thin, overlapping wooden layers painted in the Consortium’s distinctive golden-yellow hue. Characterized by a modern and recognizable design, this topographical model is intended to become an iconic element of the Consortium’s events, offering geographical and narrative insights into the extraordinary characteristics of its native territory. It represents a sea of hills that holds the memory of an ancient marine basin, which today hosts the vineyards for the production of Piedmont’s quintessential traditional method sparkling wine.
The Cocktail: “Alta Langa Passion”
Throughout the event, attendees can taste a special cocktail created for the occasion by Giacomo Colamarino, bar manager of Ai Piani Sottobanco. Named “Alta Langa Passion,” it combines Alta Langa DOCG with passion fruit syrup, lime juice, and vodka, finished with a lime garnish.
“Alta Langa DOCG proves to be an Italian excellence capable of surprising even in mixology,” comments Giacomo Colamarino. “With its elegant character and structure, it was the perfect inspiration to create an exclusive cocktail designed to celebrate the union of Piedmont and Rome.”
