Its semi-circular shape creates an “amphitheatre” effect that invites conviviality, transforming the living room into a welcoming space. Ruby Lounge is an armchair born with a defined purpose: to integrate seamlessly into residential spaces while simultaneously exploring new frontiers in design, embracing ergonomics and functionality—essential aspects even for the contract sector.
Designed by Castello and Lagravinese, Ruby Lounge strikes a balance between formal precision and comfort. Its wooden structure, selected for its strength and durability, provides both solidity and aesthetic appeal. The essential lines of the legs blend harmoniously with the generous volumes of the seat, which is equipped with soft cushions upholstered with high-density polyurethane foam, designed to offer maximum support and relaxation.
The Scandinavian inspiration is evident: the clean lines and the choice of natural materials, combined with a historical reference to the iconic armchairs of the 1970s, are explicitly expressed in the enveloping shape of the backrest, which extends seamlessly into the armrests. It unites and separates, reveals and conceals. Privé is Cattelan Italia’s first indoor divider. A piece deeply rooted in centuries of history, traditions, and philosophy, it embraces the heritage of diverse cultures.
Its evolution has been shaped by the multiple functions it has served across Eastern and Western civilizations, adapting to the needs of each era.
As a bridge between aesthetics and functionality, Privé fulfils its role as a space divider, featuring a modular system that starts from a three-panel version. Each module consists of thin wooden panels that can be adjusted at will, creating dynamic interplay of light and shadow.
Privé becomes a visual statement for any interior project: it can transform unused areas into functional spaces or divide a room without requiring permanent structural modifications that often compromise natural light. Its free-standing solid wood structure, framed by a lightweight metal outline that is easy to assemble, carves out private spaces with linear, angular, segmented, or enclosed configurations.
