Unusual materials, sinuous shapes, and tactile surfaces: Frigerio opens a new chapter in its research on design, presenting projects that reinterpret traditional craftmanship with an unexpected twist, embracing sensory experiences.
The new collection MaterialForm, that marks the debut of Fabio Calvi and Paolo Brambilla and reconfirms the collaboration with Gordon Guillaumier and Federica Biasi, is a sophisticated project that explores with elegance and composure the relationship between matter, shape and perception. The volumes become softer, and the atmosphere becomes eclectic, giving life to environments that conjugate blend intimacy and sociability in a harmonious balance.
Alongside padded elements, fabric, leather, metal, and wood – privileged materials of the brand – reed and rattan make an appearance: materials of the Italian artisanal tradition take on new expressiveness. The result is a mix of vibrant energy, in which every detail is thought to offer an authentic experience, rich in emotions and refinement, confirming Frigerio’s ability to offer an increasingly multifaceted and personal vision of living.
The new collection MaterialForm is set by Gionata Xerra’s photographic lens inside Parco Acquasanta designed by Pierluigi Nervi in Chianciano Terme: the modernist architectural narrative intertwines with the presentation of the new furnishings, giving life to a novel dialogue between past and present in an evocative interplay of references between shapes, materials, and construction details, expressing the true essence of Frigerio’s project of this year.
Felix Sofa Frigerio
Calvi Brambilla, a multidisciplinary studio founded by Fabio Calvi and Paolo Brambilla that combines architecture, interior design and product design, signs the Felix modular sofa. Capable of blending imagination and rigor, furniture elements and decorative solutions, Calvi Brambilla draws an architectural sign with essential lines, which is distinguished by the elegance of its details.
Generous seats, soft backrests and shaped armrests designed for maximum comfort are enclosed by a light metal perimeter: the armrests and the joints in the backrest are embellished with a hide-leather weave, which can be combined with the lacquered metal tubular structure adding a touch of color and fine craftsmanship to this project in a harmonious mix of contemporary design and vintage details. Felix is a piece of furniture with a timeless feeling, able to adapt elegantly to any environment and be interpreted personally, in the choice of textiles and material combinations.
