The poetry of nature is transformed into a design element through the partnership between NEUTRA and atelier oï. This brings together NEUTRA’s expertise in marble craftsmanship with the distinctive approach of the Swiss design studio, renowned for its deep sensitivity to materials. The result is Micelio.
After its début in April 2024, the project evolves, expanding with new forms and possibilities. These include upholstered seating such as the small armchairs, that enhance the original concept with added functionality.
atelier oï co-founder, Armand Louis said: “The Micelio collection strikes a perfect balance between solidity and lightness. Marble stands as a symbol of strength and durability, while soft tactile forms evoke the organic movement and spontaneity of nature. This project invites interaction, to discover new possibilities.”
Roots intertwining, fungi emerging naturally from the earth: Micelio is more than a furniture collection. Named after the vegetative network of fungi, it embodies a modular landscape that invites playful spatial exploration. The elements can be assembled and reconfigured to suit different settings, from intimate interiors to communal spaces. Micelio provides extensive customisation and is available in different material, marble, and stone.
Each piece is conceived as part of a modular composition: the small armchairs, which can be used independently or arranged in tête-à-tête configurations, are designed to rotate 360°, fostering fluid interaction with the surrounding space.
Marble is the collection’s core, elevated through cutting-edge technology to unlock its full potential. Precision machinery achieves ultra-thin cuts, while hand-finishing techniques enhance the natural veining and unique features of each marble block. The upholstered elements introduce a visual and sensory contrast, softening the sculptural forms and creating a warm, unique and versatile atmosphere.
Micelio will be showcased at the Milan Design Week 2025, within the historic setting of Palazzo Visconti, in the heart of San Babila, alongside NEUTRA’s latest collections for 2025.
